Baraka (meaning gift in Swahili) is a precious 10 month old baby boy from Kenya. He was brought to 2nd Milk after his parents abandoned him at the hospital. Baraka has a cleft lip and other various genetic malformations. When he was in the womb his skull didn’t develop properly and he was born with only one eye. Due to his condition, he is only able to feed on liquids and other soft foods.
Baraka is currently in the care of our 2nd Milk staff. Due to his special needs, most children’s homes will not even consider him for candidacy. In addition, Kenya is undergoing a healthcare strike so there are no doctors to help care for him. Prior to the strike, a group of doctors in Kenya agreed to take on his case and correct some of his malformations. However, due to the strike, those procedures have been put on hold until the strike concludes. Baraka relies solely on the formula that is provided to him from 2nd Milk. Please not only consider sponsoring baby Baraka, but also pray for the opportunity for surgery, and for a good prognosis long term.
